Court Farm, Trowbridge
Project Overview
We were appointed to lead the preparation of a comprehensive engineering and infrastructure pack in support of a large-scale planning application. Our role encompassed highways design, site-wide finished floor level strategy, surface water and foul drainage design, and the coordination of an integrated infrastructure network.
Given the scale and complexity of the development, our approach focused on establishing a robust, deliverable engineering foundation that aligned with masterplanning objectives, statutory requirements, and long-term build-out strategy.
Key outputs
We developed a strategic highways design demonstrating safe access, internal road hierarchy, and connectivity in accordance with local authority standards. A coordinated site-wide levels strategy was produced to respond to topography and flood considerations, ensuring a balanced and viable development platform.
In parallel, we prepared a comprehensive drainage strategy incorporating sustainable drainage principles and attenuation requirements. All technical elements were consolidated into a structured engineering submission pack, providing clarity to planning officers, highway authorities, and the Lead Local Flood Authority.
Value added
By integrating highways, levels, and drainage at a strategic stage, we reduced downstream design risk and minimised the potential for costly redesign during reserved matters or technical approval stages. Early infrastructure coordination supported more accurate cost planning, improved programme certainty, and strengthened the credibility of the overall planning submission.
Our commercially focused approach ensured the development was presented not only as policy-compliant, but as technically robust, deliverable, and aligned with long-term delivery objectives.
