Repton Gardens, Bristol
Project Overview
This project required full lifecycle engineering support, beginning at the planning stage and continuing seamlessly through detailed design and into construction. Our early involvement allowed us to shape the site’s engineering strategy from the outset, developing the highways, access, drainage, and levels proposals needed for planning while ensuring they aligned with long‑term buildability and compliance requirements.
As the project progressed, we transitioned naturally into detailed design, refining the technical solutions, preparing construction‑ready documentation, and coordinating with stakeholders. During construction, we remained actively involved, providing ongoing engineering input, resolving technical queries, and supporting the contractor to ensure the design intent was delivered effectively on site.
Deliverables
Key outputs
Our work spanned the full development cycle, beginning with a comprehensive planning‑stage engineering pack that set out the site’s access arrangements, drainage strategy, and finished floor levels. This was followed by the preparation of detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications that translated the planning concepts into coordinated, buildable solutions. Throughout construction, we provided continuous technical support, offering clarifications, reviewing contractor proposals, and addressing any issues arising from site conditions or design interpretation.
Value added
By remaining involved from planning through to construction, we provided the project with continuity, consistency, and a clear technical thread from concept to completion. Early decisions were informed by an understanding of how the site would ultimately be built, reducing the risk of redesign, delays, or unforeseen constraints later in the process. Our ongoing presence during construction ensured that challenges were addressed quickly and pragmatically, supporting efficient progress and giving the client confidence that the engineering aspects of the project were robust, coordinated, and aligned with the overall vision.
